Rural Essex Postcard Competition

14th December 2011

This year’s postcard competition is a bit different to last year’s.

The subject this year is Rural Essex – this means the Essex countryside including villages.

The aim of the competition is to encourage you to go out and explore your local area.

Although the overall subject is Rural Essex, each entry must have a theme – this could be churches, pubs, village greens, farms, dilapidated buildings, etc. The choice of theme is down to the entrant.

Rules

  • An entry will consist of six (no more and no less than six) prints mounted on a single 40cm x 50cm board.
  • Each print must be no larger than 5in x 7in and no less than 4in x 6in or metric equivalent.
  • Each print must be from a single image. Composite images and multiple images on a single print will not be allowed this year.
  • Images may be in monochrome (black and white, although toning such as sepia is allowed) or colour.
  • Each image should be taken in a different location. This means that you cannot take all six images within a single village.
  • Each entry must have the chosen theme printed clearly on the top of the board.
  • Each image must clearly meet your chosen theme.
  • The location where the image was taken is to be put within the image or below each print and must be easy to read.
  • Your membership number must be clearly written on the reverse of the board.

Judging

As for last year the completion will be judged by the members.

Each member present will chose their choice of 1st, 2nd and 3rd awarding them 10, 7 and 3 points respectively.

The winner will be the one with the most overall points.

Any queries on the rules should be addressed to Geoff.
